A man and a woman who have entered into the marriage contract but have not consumed their marriage. In Arabic, they are خاطبين but how to translate that into English?

    Any idea?

Does the word ( engaged) work?

I am thinking about it. Currently, I am translating it as: men and women intending to marry.

    Haven't they already intended?

Indeed. I think it would be better two say 'engaged spouses'. What do you think?

Spouse means a husband and wife, so I think the word engaged is the best one. Your opinion!

The context is along the lines of: إقامة ورشات توعوية للخاطبين حول التخطيط للمستقبل. Reference is made to those already bound by marriage contract but have not consumed it yet.

In this way, the best answer is yours.

I am not quite sure. Wil wait to see what the customer says.
