  • Evaluate my translation from English into Arabic

For many, this quota-based system over the years allowed certain individuals and groups to enrich themselves and expand their influence - all the while much of the oil-rich country's population continued to endure severe economic hardship and poor public services.

    .

بالنسبة للكثيرين, سمح النظام القائم على اساس المحاصصة على مر السنين لبعض الاقراد والمجمايع من اثراء انفسهم وتوسيع نفوذهم في حين استمر الكثير من سكان هذا البلد الغني بالنفط بالمعاناة من المشاكل الاقتصادية وسوء الخدمات.

The sentence direction displays in the wrong way when viewed in mobile devices. It would be great if we select the Arabic text and push the ض button at the ckEditor.

The translation is too literal. That is not to say you need to be at divorce with the original text, but we need to produce a translation that appeals to the reader's ear.

Translators have recently developed some grudge against the use of 'clumsy' words like كثيرون. Most likely, this word would not be in agreement with Arabic but will also inhibit the use of more useful rhetorical devices.

It is still vague. What do you mean by بالنسبة؟ Are you saying some people believe that....? Or does this mean some people are enriching themselves from sectarian allocations?

Why do not we say لقد استفادت فئات غير قليلة من الناس من المحاصصة الطائفية التي أثرت بعض المجموعات على مر السنين على حساب الأغلبية لعظمى التي ترزح تحت واقع معيشي صعب ومشكلات اقتصادية جمة في بلد غني بالنفط.
