"جراند ميلينيوم" يستضيف أبوظبي الدولي لأفلام البيئة
يستضيف فندق جراند ميلينيوم الوحدة، أحد فنادق مجموعة ميلينيوم وكوبثورن للفنادق العالمية فعاليات الدورة الأولى لمهرجان أبوظبي الدولي لأفلام البيئة، والتي ستقام بين 20 وَ 25 أبريل المقبل برعاية سمو الشيخ حمدان بن زايد آل نهيان ممثل الحاكم بالمنطقة الغربية، و المهرجان يعد الحدث الأول من نوعه الذي يستهدف "الترويج الجماهيري لأهمية المحافظة على البيئة من أجل أن تصبح الأرض مكاناً أفضل للحياة"، واستطلاع ومواكبة كل ما هو حديث وجديد في مجالات التوعية والحفاظ على البيئة وسيشهد المهرجان مشاركة وحضور كبار نجوم السينما في الإمارات والمنطقة.
وأشارت إدارة المهرجان، أن عروض الأفلام المشاركة في المسابقة الرسمية وبرامج العروض الخاصة ستكون في قاعات العروض بالفندق.. إضافة إلى استضافة المؤتمرات والاجتماعات المتعلقة بالمهرجان.
و أكدت إدارة فندق جراند ميلينيوم الوحدة، إن المشاركة في رعاية مهرجان بهذا الحجم يعد أمرا هاما، لما يتضمنه من فعاليات ثقافية وفنية وتوعوية حيث يستقطب أهم الأفلام العالمية الحديثة في مسابقاته الرسمية وكبار صناع السينما والنقاد والمخرجين وكذلك المختصين في مجال الحفاظ على البيئة، و أضافت أن إقامة المهرجان في الفندق تعكس التزام طاقم الإدارة باحتضان أبرز الأحداث الفنية والثقافية التي تجذب المقيمين والسياح.
وقال عاطف إلياس، المدير العام لفندق غراند ميلينيوم الوحدة، نتطلع للترحيب بضيوفنا سواء من سينمائيين أو المختصين بمجال الحفاظ على البيئة والجمهور ونرى أن الدورة الأولى من مهرجان أبوظبي الدولي لأفلام البيئة، تمنحنا فرصة مثالية لتقديم خدمات مجموعة ميلينيوم وكوبثورن الاستثنائية في عاصمة الإمارات.. مشيراً إلى أن الفندق يتألف من 850 غرفة وجناحاً وشقة فندقية، ويتآلف لاستضافة فعاليات مهرجان دولي بحجم أبوظبي لأفلام البيئة.
وأضاف المدير العام، إننا نرى في هذا المهرجان فرصة ذهبية لتعزيز النشاطات الاجتماعية وجلب المزيد من أهم وأرقى الأحداث الفنية إلى العاصمة أبوظبي، وأعرب في الوقت نفسه عن سعي الفندق إلى الارتقاء بإمارة أبوظبي إلى أعلى المستويات كوجهة سياحية تلتفت إليها عيون العالم.
يذكر أن مهرجان أبوظبي الدولي لأفلام البيئة هو الأول في منطقة الشرق الأوسط المعني بأفلام البيئة، وتنظمه شركة الانتاج الإعلامي "ميديا لاب"، وتستضيفه العاصمة الإماراتية أبوظبي على مدار ستة أيام خلال الفترة من 20 إلى 25 أبريل 2013.
Grand Millennium Hotel hosts the Abu Dhabi International Environmental Film Festival (ADIEFF)
Grand Millennium Hotel, a member of the Millennium and Copthorne Hotels Group Worldwide, will host the first round of events at the Abu Dhabi International Environmental Film Festival (ADIEFF). This event will take place between the 20th and 25th of April, under the auspices of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region. The Festival is considered to be the first of its kind in its aims to “promote the importance of conserving the environment in order for the Earth to become a better place to live in”. The festival also aims to explore and keep up with everything that is recent and new in the field of spreading awareness and conservation of the environment. The festival will witness the participation and attendance of the biggest movie stars in the Emirates and the region.
The Festival’s administration said the films that are taking part in the official competition will be displayed in the screening halls of the hotel, along with special programs. The hotel will also host conferences and meetings pertaining to the festival.
Grand Millennium Hotel maintained that participation in a festival of this scale is considered a matter of huge significance for it includes artistic, cultural and educational events. The Festival will not only bring together the most important recent films from around the globe in its official competitions, but also the biggest film makers, critics and directors as well as the specialists involved in the field of environment conservation. The administration also added that the venue of the Festival at the Hotel reflects the commitment of the administrative staff by embracing one of the most distinguished artistic and cultural events that attracts hotel guests and tourists alike.
GMH’s Director General, Atif Ilyas, said “We look forward to welcoming our guests, whether from the world of cinema or from the field of conservation or the general public. We feel that the first round of the ADIEFF will give us the perfect opportunity to offer the services of the Millennium and Corpthorne Groups in the UAE’s Capital.” He indicated that the hotel has over 850 rooms, suites and apartments. They also look forward to hosting the ADIEFF’s events.
He added “We see in this Festival a golden opportunity to intensify social activities and to bring an increasing number of the finest and most interesting artistic events to Abu Dhabi.” He also expressed that at the same time, the hotel hopes to raise Abu Dhabi to become one of the world’s leading tourist desination.
He mentions that the ADIEFF is the first ever to deal with the issue of the Environment in the Middle East. Media Lab, a Mass Media company will organize this event. The capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi will host them over a period of 5 days, between the 20th and 25th of April 2013.
